Omer Messinger (born in 1983) is a Jerusalem based freelance photojournalist. His work is published in Israeli newspapers and magazines such as Maariv, Blazer and Israel-Hayom. Omer’s photos were published in International publications and magazines such as the New York Times, TIME, USA Today, Washington Post, Stern, Assaut, The Baltimore Sun, Nettavisen, La Hora, Avui, The National and The Globe and Mail. He currently works in Israel for local news publications and wire agencies.

Since his first photos were published on local editions of Maariv newspaper in 2006 (Hasharon district), he was able to shoot some of the most important events of the past few years such as the Second Lebanon war, Operation casted led, the Georgia-Russia war and the Israeli Palestinian conflict.
Omer specializes in photojournalism and portrait photography.

For his work Omer won the 1st prize for “daily life” photography in “Local Testimony” 2009 (the annual Israeli photography contest), an honorable mention in the 2009 black and white “Spider Awards” and has received 2 nominations for the 2008 International Color Awards.
