A general view of the village of Schuld, severely hit by a flood on the bank of the Ahr river, Germany, July 18, 2021. An unprecedented downpour led to flash floods in the West German states of Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia. The heavy stream in some areas devastated whole villages, causing severe damage to infrastructure. Current reports indicate more than 150 people are dead and about a hundred still unaccounted for.
