GERMANY BERLIN COVID19 MEMORIAL

People gather at a makeshift memorial in Berlin, Germany, January 17, 2021. The memorial is part of the initiative "Corona-Tote sichtbar machen" (lit. Make corona deaths visible) by Christian Y. Schmidt and Veronika Radulovic, since December 6, 2020, people gather at the fountain of Arnswalder Platz every Sunday at 16:00, light candles and place placards with the current death toll reported in Germany at the time. The death toll in Germany by variouse sources revolved around 47,000.
