GERMANY WEATHER FLOODS

Exhausted volunteer firemen rest in a chair on the bank of the Ahr river following some 24 hours of rescue works at Bad Neuenahr, Germany, July 18, 2021. An unprecedented downpour led to flash floods in the West German states of Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia. The heavy stream in some areas devastated whole villages, causing severe damage to infrastructure. Current reports indicate more than 150 people are dead and about a hundred still unaccounted for.
