About Omer Messinger
I am a freelance photographer, photojournalist and visual artist based in Berlin, Germany. As part of my journalistic work, I cover news events and social issues in the German capital. Apart from the immediate obligation to report on current events, I also see myself as an illustrator with a camera, applying traditional visual approaches to the documentary genre alongside new techniques relevant to the contemporary field of visual storytelling. I put a strong emphasis on visual communication and aesthetics in my work, always trying to approach each assignment with the visual tools most suitable for it, be it an assignment for a wire-agency, newspaper, magazine, or my own personal work. I hold a B.Des from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design (2009-2013), where I majored in Illustration and motion graphics. I am an alumnus of the 26th Eddie Adams Workshop (2013).
