  • Ultra-Orthodox Jews collect water from the Ein Haniya spring near Jerusalem, April 04, 2023. They will use the water during the making of "Matsa", an unleavened bread made from flour and water, eaten during the holiday of Passover. Shmura, or guarded Matza, is prepared under tight supervision. From the moment the dough is made it has just 18 minutes to pass all stations along the line before being baked – the importance of the heist is to prevent it from rising. Jewish religion forbids eating leavened grain products during the Passover holiday, which commemorates the the liberation by God of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt as portrayed in the book of Exodus.(Photo by Omer Messinger)

  • Thousands of demonstrators hold Israeli flags during a demonstration against Israel's right-wing government and its planned judicial system reforms, near the Knesset in Jerusalem, Israel February 20, 2023. The Israeli Parliament is expected to vote today on a series of laws that will determine the future of the country's Justice system and supreme court. Among them- the structure of the committee that will appoint supreme court judges, the possibility of the high court to over-rule laws made by the Knesset and more. The reform, presumably intend to weaken Israel's Supreme Court by limiting its available tools to monitor and restrict the two other governing authorities, Israel's parliament, the Knesset which serves as the legislative branch and the Government Executive Branch.
